Everybody Loves Raymond
2015
video loop
17:00
in collaboration with Aditi Rajeev

Everybody Loves Raymond brings together all the exterior shots of the houses lived in by the Barone family across the 210 episodes of the eponymous  American TV show.

Like most domestically situated sitcoms, Everybody Loves Raymond was shot inside a studio, but actual houses were filmed to represent its neighbourhood setting. With most of the show taking place indoors, these shots of the outside appear only momentarily in each episode - just long enough to frame both the time of day or season, and the family’s comfortable economic background.

Isolated in this video, these houses perform both their real and fictional transformations over nine TV seasons. The extracted shots play in the order of their chronological appearance and retain traces of the show’s audio track.
